Photographer Steven Meisel was born in 1954, and his fascination with beauty began soon after. At a young age, he began drawing women, and would review issues of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar for inspiration. Meisel studied at the High School of Art and Design before attending Parsons The New School for Design. He emulated photographers like Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, and Bert Stern.
